Racers 1931 - 1939

The Gee-Bee won the Thompson Trophy in both 1931 and 1932. In 1931 pilot Lowell Bales averaged speeds of 236.24 mph, and in 1932 pilot Jimmy Doolittle traveled 252.68 mph to take first place.

The Howard DGA-6 "Mr. Mulligan" won both the Thompson and Bendix Trophies in 1935.

Laird-Turner L-RT Meteor. Roscoe Turner piloted the Meteor at speeds close to 282 mph in winning the Thompson Trophy in both 1938 and 1939.

Weddel-Williams placed first in the Thompson Trophy races of 1933 and 1934 piloted by James Weddel in 1933 and Roscoe Turner in 1934. Also won the Bendix Trophy in 1932, 1933 and 1934, piloted in 1933 by Roscoe Turner.
